pad prik

So today we went to a nearby Thai restaurant. The name of this restaurant is No Thai! Restaurant. Well the name is confusing because it is a Thai restaurant but the name is screaming to you "NO THAI!". So, out of curiosity, I just searched "no thai" on the internet and found that "No" is actually the name of the head chef of the restaurant. The food is delicious because they taste a little bit like Malaysian food especially the No Thai! fried rice. I think it tastes like the fried rice that I used to order at restoran seafood tom yam mana-mana kat Malaysia. I also ate pad prik or commonly known to Malaysian as paprik. I ordered this food because I love Malaysian paprik and I wondered what is the original taste of this delicacy. I don't know how to describe the taste but I prefer Malaysian paprik . To me our paprik just tastes better. Maybe they have modified the taste so that it will be suitable for American. That's why it is not as good as our paprik. I don't know, it is just my personal opinion and assumption. One interesting thing in this restaurant is we can choose the level of spiciness of our food. There are 5 levels overall from no spice to weak sauce to medium to yoga flame and lastly dim mak also known as the death touch. As a Malaysian, we bravely asked level 4 which is the yoga flame. At first, we were like this is not spicy at all. Skeptically, we said maybe this is the best they can do for an American restaurant. However after eating a good portion of the food, we started sweating a lot. haha it was hillarious. Thankfully we didn't go for the death touch.
